I don’t know about you, but my faith has been sorely tested lately. Between some family adversity, falling sick with some type of cold/ flu last week and the bitter and often gray winter days, it’s hard to keep putting one foot in front of the other!🐾
Don’t Even Get Me Started on the News!
I generally avoid it, but even my vigilance has fallen to the onslaught of ill tidings in the world🙈😳
In my consults throughout December and January, I warned clients that the first quarter of 2025 would feel like walking through heavy snow: hard work, little progress, and totally exhausting! 😩🥺
Before despair completely takes over, today, we have a sliver of hope! Jupiter, the “Great Benefic” of the zodiac, moves forward! Hooray! Light at the end of the tunnel. Also today, Venus moves into fiery Aries, and while she is far from home in this sign, she is emboldened to stand up for herself and go after what she wants - just the chutzpah we need! 🔥
There is still much challenging energy both above and on earth, but this may give us all a little lift to get us over the hump of midwinter🥳🤩✨🙏
What do I Need in This Moment?
Even though I have been feeling low, (and knew that I might before I did!), I was able to meet myself with compassion when the going got tough. Here are some of my go to’s to help get you through the next little while we wait for spring to appear🌱
💖Rest! Pace yourself! Clean up your sleep habits and Power Nap without shame. Rest and restore 😴
💖Eat clean & drink lots of water. Your mom was right 🍎✅🧁❌
💖Hum! Humming and singing stimulates your vagus nerve, which beats stress and brings inner calm. The Sound of Music soundtrack is my humming fav😉
💖Soak in the tub 🛀 add Epsom salts, essential oils and some favourite crystals for deep cleansing 🧽
💖Ask for help! My partner looked after me while I was feeling my lowest and even stepped in to help with farm chores 🧑🏻🌾
💖Turn off your phone! Silence notifications, minimize time on social media and reduce your screen time.
💖Get out in nature. Even while sick, I still got outside to walk, albeit very slowly🤣Mother Nature is the greatest healer 🌞🌙🌲This week, I was gifted the experience of seeing a pair of bald eagles on a branch overlooking Bailey Creek 🦅 🦅Pure magic!
💖Commit to a daily spiritual practice: meditation, mantra, prayer, journaling, mindfulness, yoga & more. Be devoted to your practice and be transformed 🐛🦋
💖Embrace connection and reach out for it if you need to. We are here to be in relationship, not in isolation (maybe not IRL if UR 🤧)
💖Volunteer, get involved in your community, donate time or money to help others. Do something tangible to feel empowered.
These are just some ways to support yourself-choose as many as feels right or just try one!
