I started today with a full-on kitchen dance party, complete with bewildered dogs and cats, watching me get my groove on💃A surprising end to a whopper of a week.
The past seven days were full of frustrations! Typical Mars retrograde experiences, only on steroids! Everything was getting on my very. last. nerve.
It all began with the stress of getting my daughter on a flight for a school trip to Mexico in the middle of the worst snowstorm in many years! Having just received word that she was safe at the airport & waiting for her delayed flight to depart, I went outside to start shoveling (again!) & get the tractor going to clear the driveway (again!)❄️
To my dismay, I discovered that my large drive shed, which I used to store ALL of my farm equipment, had collapsed under the weight of the snow with my tractor trapped inside 🚜😬🫣
I Thought I Was Having a Bad Day🐇
I went inside to tell my partner, Jamie, the news, and when we went back out to assess the damage, we found a dead bunny in our path, victim to deep snow and nowhere to hide from my very quick border collies🐰🙈😔A bad day was quickly getting worse.
Disposing of the bunny, we started to brainstorm how to get the tractor out. Thankfully cooler heads (Jamie‘s) prevailed, and I did not risk my neck, trying to save a tractor and getting crushed by a roof in the process!
He's Gotta be Strong & He's Gotta be Fast
Jamie was my first hero, reminding me to slow down and take a break before rushing blindly into a (half-assed) solution. He then spent hours digging trenches for the dogs and bunnies in the deep snow, so that we wouldn’t have any further casualties🙏
My second heroes were my friends Laura & Grant: Laura reminded me to be careful and also to be mindful of my insurance obligations. Grant, who is a superintendent for a large construction firm, advised me not to move the tractor, as it was the only thing holding up the roof of the shed!
Through the Wind & the Chill & the Snow
The next day, the insurance adjuster and a contractor were slated to assess the damage, but my long driveway was still buried under about a metre of snow. Enter my third hero: Glenn, my neighbour from the next farm over, who showed up and plowed the drive, the parking area, a path to the shed and down to the barn. I was so happy & grateful, I could have cried🥹Instead, I hugged Glenn, and later delivered a Shepherd’s Pie and a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies to say thanks🍪
The rest of the week I got the runaround from the insurance company and delays as they sent engineers out to determine the cause of the damage and informed me they’d be denying my claim🤬 And that’s when my fourth hero appeared: Dave, my friend Marianne’s husband, who showed up, shored up the shed roof and got that tractor out safely before more damage could be done 😮💨
And I Dream of What I Need
I had lots of other heroes this past week: friends who offered to help with the shed, friends who brought me emergency chips & nuts (IFKYK😝), my Goddess Gathering soul sister Shannon of Divine Being who took over some of my duties at our beautiful event on Thursday so that I could rest & receive some much needed reiki🌟
And not only did Marianne lend me Dave, after patiently listening to me vent about my annoyance, she also reminded me to use a very helpful Feng Shui tool in my time of need and I did and it worked ✅👏Want some of that? Click here to connect with Marianne🙌
Family, Friends & Neighbours are the Best, Insurance Co's are the Worst
I learned a lot this week about patience, anger, fear, protecting what's important (people, not things) and asking for help🙋🏻♀️Thank you Mars retrograde, for the lessons. So why did I start today dancing? MARS IS MOVING FORWARD NOW! Hurray!🥳
You may feel a lift, as your motivation returns, your energy increases, and your determination and drive get back in gear! Make the most of this week, because March 1st, Venus slips into reverse & on March 15th, Mercury races backwards to catch her🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
This week is a sweet one, and we've got a dreamy New Moon in Pisces and it's getting a big cosmic boost, so Thursday the 27th is a great evening to take some baby steps towards the future of your dreams. The Universe is whispering, can you hear it?
Wishing you love, light and peace 🕊️
Naomi
PS - Another reason I was dancing today? I had the absolute privilege and delight of co-hosting a beautiful Soul Stories Workshop here at the farm with the amazing Fotini Chandrika of Awaken With Horses. So grateful to share sacred space for healing and growth to happen🦋
PPS - The Horses' message from yesterday: Step into your power, and stay soft as your wield it🦄Peace on earth begins with each of us🕊️🤍
