I was enjoying the weekly missal from my dear friend, Becky, an amazing regenerative farmer who brings heart and innovation to everything she does. Describing her dahlia woes resulting from the extreme heat and dry weather we've had, I thought her words applied equally well to we humans:
"Oh hey, I think it's time to bloom now." The dahlias keep us waiting all summer, and then they sweep in like they own the place. But just as they're hitting their stride, they'll be done." 🌸
(you can find out more about Becky here)
Just like Becky's blooms, we cannot be constantly growing, producing, hustling and flowering, we have to rest, replenish, allow and let go🍁🍂🌾
Don't believe the narrative (rooted in consumerism, capitalism & patriarchy) which pushes us to control, compare and then despair when we fall short, it is time for you to remember that:
You Are The Medicine
I'm deeply honoured to have been selected as the Simcoe Reads 2025 Champion for my community library, NTPL. I've chosen Indigenous Healer Asha Frost's amazing book, You Are The Medicine, as the title I believe that all of Simcoe County (and beyond!) should read.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Asha last night and learning first hand how she allows her intuition to guide her creative process and indeed, her life. Click here to learn more about why I chose this book for Simcoe Reads and why its message is critical now.
Asha's book shares wisdom deeply rooted in Anishnaabe teachings, reclaiming these ancient practices and offering deep healing to our community. Her writing reminds us that Nature's cycles are the cornerstone of wellbeing, and she invites us to anchor into the gentle flow of seasonal living🐌
Time to Let Go-Bravely!❤️🔥
We're in Autumn, a time to reap what we've sown at the Spring Equinox. This fall, the cosmos returns the slow-moving planets to the signs they were in at the start of 2025, signalling a need for us to retrace our steps and take care of unfinished business.
This past Monday's Full Moon in fiery Aries gives us a little extra get up and go to take the first step. Aries is brave, bold and likes to bring it, so tap into this for the things you just don't feel like facing. Add to the mix, Mercury just slid into Scorpio, so we're ready for those "tougher" conversations.
I enjoyed a beautiful balance of reciprocity this weekend - giving with deep gratitude for the women who join sacred circle at our amazing Empress Experience, and then receiving care and presence the next day at a sacred Full Moon Sister Circle hosted by restorative wellness specialist Fotini Chandrika of Joyrise 🌝I am so thankful for both the giving and the receiving.
To everything there is a season, indeed. Wishing you balance as we move through the sun's time in Libra. Peace, Love and Light🕊️
Naomi
PS-Someone else was tired post Empress Experience👇😹
