FRIENDS WHO FEEL LIKE FAMILY
Honestly, it’s pretty funny how often I am sharing guidance with a client and realize it is divine wisdom destined also for my ears 👂 I was doing a consult for a new client last week, and their chart had so many similarities to my own, it was like meeting with my younger self! What a gift! Seeing their frustration with some of the repeating unhelpful patterns in their life, but not fully knowing how to make the change they need. Can anyone relate? I sure can🙋🏻♀️
It was a privilege to be able to make suggestions around how to engage with the energy in a new way, opening the door for different outcomes. I remember my own experience of feeling lost in the woods, until one of many wonderful guides showed up to illuminate my path🏮 Some of the most memorable are my beloved yoga teacher, Gita Ma, and my own relationship coach, Victoria Wilde 🙏And let me not forget my amazing family and especially, my wonderful friends, who reminded me of my light when I fell into darkness✨
Many of my clients are not just experiencing difficulty with intimate partnership, but other relationships are also causing stress 😫
PRO TIPS FOR YOUR FRIEND SITUATIONSHIPS ✅
Are your friends feeling more like Frenemies? It’s not you, you just haven’t found your people. So, what can you do to find your folks?
1-Be Yourself 🙋🏻♀️I spent most of high school trying to bend myself into what I thought other people wanted. It left me lonely and confused about who I really was. Our people show up when we show up, fully, as ourselves.
2- Try something new 🧶 I found my people in high school, when I started riding horses! 🐴 This common bond brought us together💞 More recently, I’ve made wonderful friends singing in a community choir, acting in our local play reading series, joining a book club, and learning how to play bridge! All have brought me beautiful friendships, which delight me in unexpected ways!
3-Flow don’t force 🌊 Connections ebb and flow, and it can be painful when they ebb, but don’t make it a bigger story than it needs to be. Don’t take these cycles personally! And if you are truly unhappy with the state of affairs, reach out. Our friends are not mind readers, so it is our responsibility to speak up for our needs.
4-Small steps take us far 👣 According to a podcast from happiness expert Dr Laurie Santos, research shows that being friendly and open and chatting with your barista, cashier, teller or the person waiting with you at the bus stop is scientifically proven to increase your feelings of cheer. And who knows? Sometimes these casual contacts lead to lasting friendships 🥰
I’ve been fortunate in having a great group of women with whom to share my journey as a business owner and entrepreneur. I’ve done amazing collaborations with gifted healers and facilitators.
And in this spirit of appreciating those around us, may all of your alliances bring you a sense of kinship, togetherness and union. Enjoy these last glorious days of August as we shift from playful Leo into practical Virgo.
Peace, love, and light🕊️
Naomi
