Back in the "old days" when I hosted a hotel for dogs, a new client arrived with her two pooches for a visit and tour. As the dogs bounded out of the car, what was memorable wasn't their looks or personalities (although both were top shelf!), it was the younger dog's name - Six🐕🐾
19 years of hosting hundreds if not thousands of canine guests definitely brought its share of unusual honorifics, but this one was more remarkable than most. The best part this story? The reason behind the number.
Her inspiration - before the days of computers, fighter pilots reported enemy planes using clock positions - 12 was straight ahead, 9 was the left, 3 was to the right and 6 was your back, your unguarded blind spot. "I've got your six" meant another aviator was watching out for you, had you covered & you were safe🙏
She chose the name because loyalty, care, predictability and reliability were qualities she valued and found in her dogs and a few two-legged companions along the way as well😜
& That's What It's All About, right?🎶
Someone having our 6 makes us feel seen, understood, appreciated and supported. I witnessed a beautiful example of this yesterday driving home from an event with a friend. As I gathered my things & opened the door, she glanced at her phone and smiled broadly - delightfully surprised by a loving text from her husband. Simple and yet powerfully connective, in essence saying: "I love and appreciate you and I want to be sure that you know this."
And isn't this what we ALL want to have?
When we don't feel that our partner has our 6, we feel isolated, disconnected and invisible. When I was married, ironically, it was the loneliest time I've ever felt in life. And the more I self-abandoned to try to get my ex to show up the way I needed him to, the worse things got😬
Been There, Done That💁🏻♀️
It took me many years, lots of tears and the loving support of family, friends, my pets, a good therapist and a great coach to finally shift from feeling taken for granted in my intimate relationships to feeling truly cherished by my love👩🏻❤️👨🏻
I had to be ready to rewrite my story, and I was committed to doing what was needed to transform this outdated pattern. And when the time was finally right (I've sure a few folks in my life wish it had been sooner!), I got the support I needed and changed my relationships.
Are you tired of feeling like no one has your 6, and you just wish that someone would help you find deep, meaningful and loving connection?
Are you ready to receive guidance on how to keep yourself safe and thriving in relationships?
Are you ready to commit to yourself?
It's Time to go Deep🦂♏️💜
We still have a few more days of Scorpio Season, and this fixed water sign is known for its intensity and getting to the heart of the matter. The Scorpio New Moon on Thursday has added oomph with an opposition from Uranus and Mercury retrograde in the heart of the Sun, so breakthroughs and deep insights are on the astro menu this week!
Couple that with the return of Saturn, Neptune and Uranus to the signs they were in at the start of 2025 (and left temporarily during this summer) and we can see that now is a time to tie up loose ends and take care of unfinished business.
Into The Woods We Go!🍁🍂
You are not alone. I know that it can feel scary to stand at the edge of change and take a leap of faith. Let me be your guide and lead you through the darkness. I'll hold the lantern and show you the way🌠 Peace, Love and Light🕊️
