Never, EVER text your Ex! Not even during a pandemic!

My dear friend Laura likes to remind me not to look in the rearview mirror too much; after all, I’m not headed that way!  It has been tempting, largely due to the forced introspection of Covid, to revisit the past and jump onto the hamster wheel of looping thoughts.

But, we can always choose differently.

Eckhart Tolle speaks of the importance of the present moment in his seminal book, The Power of Now, explaining that most human suffering comes from a failure to truly experience the “now”.  We are imprisoned by regret about the past and worry about the future, blind to the miracle which unfolds before us in each moment. 

I am as guilty of this as the next person (looking at you, moon in Virgo). Thanks in part to my astrology journey, I am also aware of this propensity, and so I can turn on the “observer” part of me, recognize when I am doing this, and CHOOSE differently.

Am I always successful at this?  H-E- double hockey sticks NO!!  But I am getting better at it. 

As my beloved Kriya Yoga teacher, Gita Ma, always reminds her sangha, the pillars of mastery in this and all aspects of life are constant practice and detachment from outcome.  Sounds simple enough, right?

I tested out my resolve to these tenets last month, as Mercury, the last planet travelling through emotional Pisces shifted into Aries.  I brought my trip down memory lane to a close and set my sights on where I’m headed to next.  Where I am focusing my energy and my intention.  And in true Aries form, I’m blazing ahead, firing on all cylinders, all systems GO!
